Learning / Portfolio Projects

These projects are designed to reflect real on-farm situations where decisions have real consequences. They move you beyond simply operating machinery and into thinking like a supervisor, with responsibility for safety, legal compliance, and how others work. Each project links workplace experience with off-the-job learning, helping you build the confidence, judgement, and professional skills expected of a Level 3 Agriculture Apprentice.

Farm Guard Project – Introduction

🔍 Apprentices carry out a real farm audit covering biosecurity, environmental practice, and quality & storage.

🛠️ They identify risks, suggest improvements, and link what they see on farm to what they learn off-the-job.

🎯 The goal: sharper observation, better decision-making, and farms that are safer, smarter, and more compliant.

Farm Safe Project – Introduction

🚜 Apprentices assess real on-farm machinery use where mistakes can impact people, livestock, and the business.

🧠 They take on a supervisor’s role, identifying risks and applying safe systems of work and legal responsibilities.

🎯 The goal: move from using machinery to managing it safely, confidently, and professionally on a working farm.
